The City of Indianola (pop.
15,833) is a growing community with a historic downtown, located approximately 15 minutes south of Des Moines.

The community welcomes thousands of visitors annually who come to Indianola to enjoy major events such as the National Balloon Classic, the Warren County Fair, and other events.
This position is responsible for a number of tasks, including, but not limited to:
Assumes responsibility for street maintenance duties and operations.
Coordinates, supervises and works as a part of skilled, semi-skilled, and manual labor crews on specific field assignments.
Assists in safely and properly maintaining the City's streets, storm sewer, grounds, buildings, and/or other facilities for use by employees and the general public.
Supervises the operation of, and possesses the ability to operate, large or specialized equipment normally associated with the area of assignment.
Operates and maintains specialized equipment relative to an area of assignment; performs routine mechanical repairs.
Snow and ice removal operations include plowing snow, shoveling snow, and sanding streets.
The successful candidate will have:
Ideally, four years of documented journey-level experience in the department to which assigned.
High school graduation or equivalent; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Requires at a minimum, a Class B CDL license with air brake and tanker endorsement.
Must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record and meet City liability requirements to drive for City business.

The hourly rate for this position is $31.
31/hour ($65,128.
97 Annually) with benefits.
This is a union, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a post-offer drug screening, background check, physical, and physical capacity profile.
The position is open until filled.
